HOW TO USE
Substrate preparation
The substrate should be compact, strong, dry, load-bearing, free from dust, dirt, salt blooms, greasy organic stains and anti-adhesive agents. Reinforce loose and dusty substrates with GRUNLIT-U or GRUNLIT-G primer. Remove the occurring fungi and lichens with the bioactive BIOLIT agent.
Product preparation
Pour the 25 bag contents into approximately 5.5 – 6.0 liters of clean, cold water and mix using the low-speed stirrer, in order to obtain a homogenous consistency and leave for 5 minutes, then re-mix to obtain full working properties. Shelf life of the mortar mixed with water depends on temperature and humidity, however, it does not exceed 2 hours. Do not add water to the prepared mortar to “improve” its consistency.
Mass application
Apply the adhesive on the styrofoam with strips with a width of 3-4 cm on the edge of the board, and with patches with a diameter of 8-10 cm on the remaining surface of the board, so that the total area of the applied mortar on the board is not less than 40%. It is unacceptable to glue the styrofoam only using the patch method. Place the styrofoam boards immediately to the wall and press them to align with previously glued boards. After 15 minutes from gluing, do not longer move and improve their position. Sanding the surface of the boards can be done not earlier than after 3 full days after gluing.
IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINES
The temperature of the substrate and the environment during the application and drying of the adhesive should be from +5o C to +25o C. The insulated facade should be protected from direct sunlight, strong wind and rain. Do not add any substances to the adhesive without consulting the KOSBUD technical department. The adhesive in the autumn-spring version should be used in the temperature range from +2oC to +15o C, while the temperature of the substrate should not be lower than +5o C. Proceed with doweling of the glued boards not earlier than after 3 days from their gluing. The type and length of dowels used should be determined in the building thermal insulation project. The adhesive consumption depends on the degree of substrate evenness and method of application. When performing thermal insulation works, adhere to the art of construction and instructions for the execution of ETICS thermal insulation systems.
