POTRZEBNE PRODUKTY
Substrate preparation
The substrate should be clean, dry, stable and cohesive. To increase durability, it is good to prime the substrate with GRUNLIT acrylic primer and, in the case of facade cladding, apply the product on the final surface of the thermal insulation system. If the base is an adhesive mortar with a mesh on foamed polystyrene, perform the priming after the mortar has fully cured and dried. Particular attention should be paid when gluing the cladding to previously made acrylic plasters, silicone or facade paint coatings. The additives used in them to increase dirt resistance can significantly reduce glue adhesion. In such cases, it is recommended to carry out a gluing test on a small surface.
Product preparation
STONO architectural concrete is delivered in commercial packaging in the form of flat panels or rolls. Before mounting, panels for one surface should be removed from the packaging, unfolded and placed on an even, clean and flat surface, in warm conditions, temp. above 18 °C, to level their surfaces and make good use of available patterns. You must also check the availability of the tools mentioned above. Before use, TERMOLEP-D dispersion adhesive should be mixed using a low-speed mixer. The adhesive should not be diluted with water.
ASSEMBLY
All work should be carried out protecting the cladding from sunlight up to 7 days after installation. The use of protective nets is mandatory during assembly.
Before gluing, mark the upper horizontal initial line and potential vertical lateral lines defining the surface of the decoration. Apply the TERMOLEP-D adhesive with a 5 mm notched trowel on the prepared and fully dried surface, so that the strands from under the trowel are perpendicular to the glued facing. This will make it easier to glue concrete with its entire surface and avoid empty spaces. Depending on the weather conditions, the adhesive should be applied to the surface to glue the concrete lining and prevent it from drying. The adhesive drying process strongly reduces concrete adhesion to the substrate. Do not wet dried adhesive. Remove it and do not mix with the adhesive in the packaging. After applying the glue, apply the concrete imitation – if necessary, cut to size and press with your hand – from the center to the edges.
Press it again with a hard paint roller, starting longitudinally, from the center towards the edge, and then laterally, squeezing excess adhesive around the edge. If no glue squeezes at the edge of the concrete, you need to use the roller in this area again. Beforehand, cut the concrete panels to the appropriate size with a sharp carpet knife using an angle bar. If necessary, level the edges with 80 or 100 grit sandpaper. The excess of adhesive at the bottom edge of the concrete should be partially removed, leaving the amount of adhesive needed to glue the next cladding panel. After gluing another concrete slab as described above, immediately remove excess adhesive in the gap between the panels using a damp sponge and model the grout. When gluing concrete with grout, you can use distance crosses of appropriate size. After gluing the second concrete slab, level the edges at the joint of the panels with a roller once more to obtain the smoothest surface possible. Any glue stains on the concrete should be removed immediately with a damp sponge or cloth, as it can be very difficult to remove after drying. When joining panels at the outer corners, cut the joint edges with an even trowel and 60-80 grit sandpaper at the 45° angle. When assembling, pay special attention to accurately measuring, cutting and pressing boards on their entire surface to the adhesive mortar. After the adhesive completely dries, approx. 3-4 days, paint the entire surface of the decoration with a thixotropic impregnation brush, which will additionally protect the concrete against weather conditions.
