POTRZEBNE PRODUKTY
Surface treatment
The surface must be durable, compact and dust-free. To make it more durable, you should cover it with a universal GRUNLIT U primer, while in case of facade mortars you should apply the product on the final surface of the insulation system. When you apply the product on adhesive spackle mortars with a net on styrofoam, priming should be performed once the mortar has set and dried. A special attention should be paid when you attach the board to previously laid acrylic or silicon plasters, or facade paint coats. Additives used in them increase the resistance to dirt and can decrease the adhesiveness of the glue significantly. In such cases, you should perform fastening tests on a small area.
FASTENING
Before you start fastening works, draw the upper horizontal line where you will start work and possible lateral vertical lines which will determinate the decoration area. Apply the TERMOLEP D adhesive with a notch trowel 4 mm on the prepared and completely dry surface so as the bands left by the notch trowel should be aligned perpendicularly to the attached board. It shall make it possible for you to attach the whole surface of the board and prevent empty spaces. Depending on weather conditions, distribute the adhesive in such a way and on such a surface that you should manage to attach boards on the entire surface before the adhesive dries. Drying of the adhesive reduces the adhesiveness of decorative slips to the ground.
Instead of dampening the dried glue you should remove it and avoid adding and mixing it with the fresh glue from the package. Having applied the adhesive, lay a properly cut and evened out board, put your hand in the middle and press the board to the edges. Press it once again with a hard paint roller starting along the board from the center towards the edges and then across the whole surface, leaving this way the excess of the adhesive go out around the edges. No glue next to the board’s edges proves that you must use the roller once again in that spot. The boards must be processed earlier to a proper size with a sharp knife for floor linings using an angle. In case of need, smoothen the edges with 80 or 100 abrasive paper. Cutting edges should be painted with a stain varnish whose colour matches the board’s colour. The excess of the adhesive next to the lower edge of the board should be partly removed to leave the quantity needed to attach the subsequent board. Having attached the next board in the aforementioned way, immediately remove the excess of the glue between two successive boards using a damp sponge and shape the joint. If you attach the board already with a joint, you can use mounting crosses of a proper size. Having fastened the second board, align once again the edges between two subsequent panels with a roller to leave the surface as much aligned as possible. All the glue residues should be immediately removed with a damp sponge or cloth cause they can become very hard to remove once dry. While connecting boards, polish the external corners of contact edges using an even trowel with 60-80 abrasive paper under 45°. Once the adhesive has dried, paint the processed edges with a stain varnish. During fastening works pay a special attention to a precise measurement, cutting of boards and pressing of the whole surface to the adhesive mortar. Once the adhesive has completely dried – after 3-4 days – the entire area should be painted using a brush with a thixotropic impregnate, which protects boards against bad weather conditions. These are general rules of use and application of TABULO decorative boards, which enable you to achieve good results. In case of doubts, ask the distributor for advice.
